Famous Canadian singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn has announced plans of a tour in April 2009 across a number of states in the US. The tour starts at Flagstaff, AZ on April 4 and visits 10 cities including Beaver Creek, CO; Santa Fe, NM; Grand Junction, CO and Salt Lake City, UT before ending at Ann Arbor, MI on April 20.
Bruce is conducting the tour in support of his latest album "Life Short Call Now.' His 29th album, it was released in the summer of 2006 and features 12 songs that he wrote during and after his 2004 fact-finding mission to Baghdad. The album contains a number of surprises including a 23-piece orchestra, something that Cockburn has not experimented with earlier. The album also features guest artists Ani DiFranco, Ron Sexsmith, Hawksley Workman and Damhnait Doyle. Cockburn had released "Speechless' before his latest offering which made it to the Top 10 on Billboard's contemporary jazz chart.
